Back in my teens this would have been such a drama for me, but now I know it'll all change within 2-4 weeks. I do think hair grows faster by not using regular shampoo and conditioner, if only for the vigorous massage required with the no-poo method.
I remember, back in my late teens, getting my hair cut from long to very short and the depressive slump that followed. I couldn't believe the difference in the way I was treated. Before, men would hold the door for me. With short hair, they were pushing ahead of me. I felt invisible. Again, I was an emotionally-charged teen and this probably all sounds melodramatic, but it was real for me then.
Apart from my 'little' fringe, the rest of the haircut is really nice and maybe in a few weeks I'll have the haircut I was hoping for. Damn that gorgeous French lady I met at a (children's) party last week, with her bouncy brunette fringe brushing over her big doe eyes. I think I was listening to what she was saying...
So in place of a picture of me, here's a picture of the gorgeous Anne Hathaway with perfect brunette bangs.

Does shampooing mean you have to go through the whole cycle again? Hope not for your sake!! I am sure your hair will look perfect in a few weeks and you'll be looking like lovely Anne...great hairstyle.
I've had to wash my hair a few times with shampoo and conditioner since I have started using baking soda and acv. I noticed that when I washed with regular shampoo and conditioner, every time I had this chunk of hair on the top of my head that got really frizzy and knotty after it was washed and dried, but it doesn't exist with the baking soda and acv!
Krissie - I don't know, but two weeks on, whether it's the cut itself or the shampooing, my hair is not the same! I gess next time I could ask them not to wash it, but what about when my colour is due?
Hanna - very strange... Go no-poo!

I was getting my hair styled for a television appearance, and the stylist put mousse on my already voluminously dry, curly hair. Then he tugged outwards, so my hair was flat on top, and was the shape of a yield sign. "I like the triangle look," he muttered. That made one of us!
As for your blogs, very artistically done and pleasantly simple! Thanks for the reminders (direct and subliminal) about getting back to basics.
Thanks Ursula, Ill take a look.
Abbi - yield sign, hilarious!
